Any and all core returns must be scheduled and authorized by our Core Department prior to return to AB Automotive Transmissions.  If a core deposit was taken on your order, the deposit refund will be issued back to the original purchaser either via check, cash, or store credit, minus any shipping and handling fees.

All transmission cores returned for credit or Warranty activation must be the exact replacement of the transmission purchased. The core must be complete, intact/assembled, and in rebuildable condition, and accompanied by the torque converter. Cores returned that are damaged in transit or missing components and/or the torque converter will require payment of the core fee to activate the Warranty.

If you selected the Core Return Service or paid Core Return Shipping but do not return your core within the time frame specified above, you will owe the difference in the actual Core Value.

TERMS OF THE WARRANTY

This Warranty and Terms & Conditions of Sale Agreement are subject to the laws of New Jersey. Any action brought or held on the basis of the Limited Warranty and/or Terms & Conditions of Sale Agreement will be brought and held in the courts located in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The client assumes any and all legal fees, including attorney costs for both parties, if the client is determined to be liable in the court of law.

Transmissions supplied from AB Automotive Transmissions (referenced as “ABT”) are deemed to be quality inspected. This Limited Warranty shall only cover the original purchaser. The Warranty is not to be extended to any other party and is non-transferable.  (A fee-based option may be available with proof of purchase/invoice) Any other products offered by ABT are sold “AS-IS” unless they come with their own specified Warranty. 'Extended' or 'Doubled' Warranty coverage will follow the same guidelines, terms, and conditions as AB Automotive Transmissions standard Warranty coverage.

The ABT Warranty duration is dependent on the level of your build/purchase and will be listed on the invoice.  Once ABT authorizes a repair, ABT will determine a course of action of repair at our facility.  Warranty time paid for repairs has a cap of 6 hours and must be approved in writing by an ABT representative prior to any work being performed. Once a third party performs a repair on our product, they now assume full responsibility of the product and you release ABT from any liability or coverage.

Warranty DOES NOT cover any of the following:

1.      Any and all freight costs including freight damage claims.

2.      Fluid, rental cars, loss of wages, any labor costs not associated with a previous agreement made by ABT.

3.      Removal/reinstall fees, towing costs, diagnostic fees, and any other incidental costs or damages which may be

associated with product failure are not covered.

4.      Any product that has been physically altered improperly installed or maintained.

5.      Any product used in an improper application, abused or not used in connection with the proper parts.

6.      Any product that is defective due to accident, neglect, or unauthorized repair.

7.      Any product where proper cooling and or fluid levels have not been maintained.

8.      Pump, pump components, shafts, sprags, drums, planetaries, and/or cases.  These parts are not commonly

broken, however in the event this occurs, ABT offers replacement parts at a discounted price.

There are no warranties that extend beyond the description on the face of this document. Rebuilding of transmissions will be limited to replacement of friction materials, gaskets, and seals; there will be an additional charge for parts that are damaged as a result of items not covered by this Warranty.

ABT recommends that all transmissions, transfer cases, and torque converters are installed by ASE certified transmission technicians to obtain optimal performance.  These are highly complex drivetrain components and failure to have a unit professionally installed may result in unnecessary issues and a potential loss of Warranty.

INSTALLATION AND BREAK-IN PROCEDURES

Prior to Installation - Installer Responsibilities PLEASE READ!!!

Quite often recommendations come with the product purchase to help ensure a successful installation.  Review below the most common recommendations that pertain to your purchase.

It is the sole responsibility of the installer and/or owner to properly diagnose and fix all problems with the vehicle prior to the new ABT product being installed. There are many external devices that can lead to the damage of transmission, transfer case, or torque converter.  If these items are not addressed, then the problem can be carried over the new ABT product and potentially VOID the warranty.  Please make sure all devices are in working order.  This is not an unconditional warranty against all hazards and failures.  The products distributed by ABT are warrantied to the original dealer and/or vehicle owner against defects in parts or factory workmanship.

BREAK-IN PERIOD

The ABT drivetrain components are broken in right out of the box.  You can resume regular service once proper installation is complete and proper operability is confirmed by the installing technician.  In the event, a problem should arise via trouble lights or noise/performance-related issues discontinue use and have the vehicle inspected to prevent damage to the product that could potentially void the warranty.

All Custom Built Transmissions have a break-in period of 500 miles. Driving during this time should be “light”, meaning no excessive use or abuse, excessively long road trips, racing, off-roading, towing, etc.  Fluid level should be checked frequently.

WARRANTY WILL BE VOIDED IF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MET:

Transmission cooler lines must be flushed to avoid using old oil or metal shavings from previous transmission.  High performance and towing applications must install an auxiliary transmission oil cooler. TV Cable (when necessary) must be adjusted properly for adequate function of the transmission.  *** To prevent failure of the new transmission, a transmission cooler replacement is recommended.  Flushing is acceptable ONLY in units that fluid was not discolored but to do so at your own risk.  Units failing from contaminated fluid will not be warranty covered*** Cooler replacement guarantees a clean system and flawless installation.  ABT can supply these upon request.

Please note that failure to follow proper Warranty procedures as outlined in this document may void your Warranty.

Any warranty shall be void if the total invoiced price is not paid in full or if the project or materials supplied by ABT are abused, not maintained, or modified in any way.

This warranty is subject to the following terms and conditions listed below.

Repair facility or purchaser must notify ABT to obtain a claim number and procedure for claim – NO EXCEPTIONS. No claims shall be honored if prior authorization is not obtained.  ABT reserves the right to inspect any and all products prior to reimbursement being made.  Money due under this claim will be distributed after a determination by ABT has been made (usually 30 days).  ABT reserves the right to repair or replace products as we see fit.  We make no guarantees the entire product will be replaced if the repair requires only a part to be fully serviceable again.  The determination of what is replaced is at the sole discretion of ABT.  ABT reserves the right to require parts to be returned prior to the replacement products being appropriated in the event we feel failure may have been caused by something not warrantable (See What is Not Covered).  ABT is not responsible for claim reimbursement when the defective parts are discarded and not made available for inspection.

ABT reserves the right to return all parts to their original manufacturer for further inspection prior to the determination being made.  Any parts reimbursed sought will be made at shop cost only (not a marked-up version of). We will require parts store invoices for cost to be determined.  In the event parts store receipts are not made available, ABT will use national jobber parts costs listing to establish a proper and fair reimbursement.

Any and all repairs or tampering made to a product by the client or an agent acting on behalf of the client without prior written authorization by ABT will result in loss of Warranty.  Transmissions & Torque Converters with a Warranty of longer than 90 days must have the transmission/torque converter serviced every 24 months or 24,000 miles (whichever occurs first).  You may contact us for recommendations.  When filing a warranty claim, you must provide a copy of your service receipt(s) to show proof that the products have been properly maintained.  This includes but is not limited to transmission/converter fluid flush and change. The Warranty becomes null and void once any transmission is installed in conjunction with a used torque converter. ABT reserves the right to deny warranty coverage if the issue is determined not to be manufacturer related. For Warranty Authorization, contact ABT at 732-750-7999.
